Do you get distracted during prayer? Here are 7 simple and proven ways to increase khushu and maintain focus in your Salah.

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

Many of us face this problem - as soon as we stand for prayer, all kinds of worldly thoughts come to mind. But Salah is a direct conversation between the servant and Allah.

Today we will learn how to stay focused during prayer:

**1. Prepare for Prayer**
Perform wudu 5 minutes before prayer and sit on the prayer mat. Put your phone on silent. Tell yourself: "Now I am standing before Allah."

**2. Understand What You Recite**
How can we focus if we don't understand what we are saying? Learn the meaning of "Alhamdulillah", "Subhana Rabbiyal Azeem".

**3. Recite Slowly**
Don't rush through the Surahs. Reflect on the meaning of each verse.

**4. Remember Death**
Think that this might be your last prayer. This will automatically bring your focus back.

**5. Memorize New Short Surahs**
Memorize 1 new Surah every week. Reciting the same Surah repeatedly can cause boredom.

**6. Protect Yourself from Whispers of Shaytan**
If bad thoughts come during prayer, turn slightly to the left 3 times and say "Auzubillah" as if spitting lightly.

**7. Ask Allah for Help**
After every prayer make this dua: "Allahumma a'inni ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni ibadatik"

Remember, khushu won't come in one day. Keep trying. Allah sees your effort.

May Allah grant us all the ability to pray with concentration. Ameen.
